Coastal Thanks
Dear Editor:
Just wanted to let you know
that your article a couple of
weeks back inspired Coastal
Frozen Yogurt to participate
in the 1010 WINS small
business grant contest. We
were actually chosen as one
of the top 10 finalists with our
business idea for the grant!
Unfortunately,
we
were
not the top winner (we still
received a Canon Printer for
being top 10- so not a total
bust).
“Lizzmonade”
was
the
overall winner, you may have
seen her lemonade stand up
at the Riis Park bizarre last
summer.
Overall, it was a great
experience and we had the
opportunity to meet and
network with Gregg Bishop,
the NYC Commissioner of
Small
Business
Services,
his staff- who were very
knowledgeable
and
informative, as well as other
small business owners from
around NYC. At the very
least we had some Rockaway
representation at the contest,
which is a good thing!
Thanks for including the
article in the paper!!

Praise for Aram
Dear Editor:
Every once in a while
we meet someone who is
exceptional. Someone who
takes the time to go the extra
mile and does it with ease,
it’s just part of their nature.
I am writing to you because I
had the pleasure of meeting
such a person, his name is
Aram, the Manager of Stop
and Shop.
Within the past few months
he went out of his way to help
me. Once when I was looking
for a specific Organic Bread
and again when I lost my cash
in his store. How lucky am I
that it was Aram who found
the money and immediately
gave it to Customer Service!
Thank you,
Annie Graves
They Could Fix This
Dear Editor:
(Regarding the article about
Gas Skimming, 4-7-16).
Long ago gas stations figu-
red out how to disable the
pumps if you haven’t paid
yet, but seem unable or
unwilling to invest in the
technology to secure the
credit
card
information
of their customers. Mind
boggling!

Adelman Farewell
Dear Community:
After three - plus years
of service to the Rockaway
community, I have been
transferred out. It has been
my honor to serve as the
Commanding Officer of the
100th Precinct. I am sad to
go and will always have fond
memories of my experiences
while I was here. There are
so many great people I would
like to thank, but there are too
many to list. My replacement
is captain Janice Holmes
who I know will continue the
great relationship that we
all fostered together. I wish
everyone the best of luck
and I truly will miss serving
as your commanding officer.
Thank you all.
Deputy Inspector Craig
Adelman
