excited about this milestone.
They’ve revamped their web-
site and are launching cam-
paigns on social media.
“For 10 years, Aviator has
been a family friendly, af-
fordable and safe destination
for families in the Rockaways,
as well as all across NYC. Be-
tween the open activities like
rock wall and public skating
and the instructional sports
with world class coaches, we
are a place where families
have grown up. We’re proud
of our Aviator family,” Doell
If you haven’t been there
lately, there’s a ton of activi-
ties that they offer. There are
sports leagues of programs for
baseball, basketball, figure
skating, flag football, gym-
nastics, ice hockey, lacrosse,
pickleball (a paddle sport),
soccer, tennis and volleyball.
There is also sky jump and the
For anyone wanting to un-
wind, there is Aces Lounge
and Patio on the second floor.
This summer, Aces will be
home to “Summer Series”, fea-
turing some of the top bands
in the area. Doell explained
how they also have expand-
ed their food selection. “We
also added Kosher food to our
food court. Aviator partnered
with Eat ’n Run café to provide
this often asked for food court
option. They are also our offi-
cial Kosher caterer.”
In the celebratory spirit,
Aviator is having 10-Year An-
niversary Monthly Promo-
tions. She went on to say “We
added a new day pass as part
of our anniversary celebra-
tion. We thought it was time
to offer this added value to
our customers. It includes un-
limited public skating, unlim-
ited rock climbing, unlimited
sky jump, and one session of
open basketball and volley-
ball. It’s been going very well
and customers are happy that
we have created this value for
them to spend the day with us.
It’s available on Friday, Sat-
urday, Sunday and holidays
and school breaks.” I checked
their website and the All Day
Pass is currently $32.50 per
person (plus tax).
Doell added “We’re doing a
lot of special promotions for
this year. We have a different
discount for every month of
the year at
10yearpromos. They range
from free trial classes to sales
on parties and summer camps.”
The Aviator Staff pride
themselves on delivering the
highest standards of custom-
er service. They want you feel
like part of the Aviator family.
Doell loves telling stories of
kids who took their first step
onto the ice years ago and are
now playing hockey in col-
lege. She has similar success
stories for members who are
active in gymnastics and oth-
er sports.
She explained that a lot has
changed as far as the pro-
grams. “Our camps program
is COMPLETELY overhauled.
A new director brings in a
wave of changes, including
new age-appropriate divi-
sions, new science, reading,
and math programs, ped-
al carts and healthy menus.
Every day will be a different
activity, and kids are building
on what they learn. Remem-
ber, camps are about making
memories and having fun
while enhancing social skills.
We are available to schedule
private tours.”
The weather is getting nicer,
so cross the bridge and check
out what’s going on. Aviator
