While we celebrate with the
beach, concession crawls and
barbecues on this unofficial
start to summer, let’s not forget
the true meaning of this three-

Monday, May 30 and several cer-

of those who died while serving
their country.
On Sunday, May 29, Broad
Channel will be honoring our
veterans with its annual Memo-

there continue along Cross Bay
Boulevard toGeorge Riekers Vet-

East 4th and 6th Road), where
there will be another wreath
laying, as well as closing cere-
monies. The parade will include
local veterans from the Broad
Channel VFW and American
Legion and guest veterans from
St. Albans Hospital, plus elected
officials and other community
organizations. The parade will
be followed with a barbecue at
the VFW Post 260 on Shad Creek
