The Arverne Hotel Casino offered bowling, billiards, 100 (6x5) bathrooms, verandas on three sides of the building, tennis courts, massages, dining and drinking and, of course, gambling. The most practiced behavior pattern for the one-day traveler was to swim on the beach, bathe, relax, eat, drink, play and gamble. The ol' time locals know, back in the 1980s, this idea would have launched a promising revival for the Rockaways.
