Speaking words of gratitude will bring you happiness and your world will become a bit brighter. You will begin to see things in a different way and your burden will lighten. We are here in gratitude for the blessing of life. Looking around we see love in all things.
Sometimes we need to be reminded of all the good things we have in this world. Start by greeting each day with a breath of fresh awareness. When you awaken, find the time to say a simple thank you for this day. Begin by caring deeply and let that carry you through your day. There may be mistakes and misunderstandings, but we will grow from our experiences.
Prioritize your health, the health of others and our Mother Earth. Share your ideas and learnings with one another. Begin to remove the obstacles that darken or cloud your vision for a better world. Go outside for a walk, even if only for five minutes, it will brighten and refresh your day. The ocean air is natural medicine for the body and soul. Find strength and integrity to endure from deep inside the well within your inner landscape. Show up at the community meetings to serve the greater of all, not just your own personal agenda. Lend a helping hand to someone in need. Be grateful to be able help someone less fortunate than yourself. The more you give, the more you will receive.
As I walk down my block, I see my neighbors once again sitting on their porches taking in some vitamin D. How blessed are we to live in Rockaway Beach with such an amazing community of friendly faces? So thankful to live in Rockaway Beach where there are angels everywhere. I remember to breathe throughout the day. I remind myself that I can choose peace, no matter what is going on around me. Whenever I desire, I can retreat to that quiet place within, simply by closing my eyes or stepping outside in the sunshine. Smell the ocean air, it’s so refreshing and healing.
Thank you, Rockaway Beach, thank you Paulette for your guidance and sharing the column among other things. May you all have joy and happiness. Thank you for another beautiful day on Earth. Let’s take this opportunity to make the Earth a better place for our children to inherit. May you all be happy, healthy, safe and live with ease.
You do not have to be good.
You do not have to walk on your knees
for a hundred miles through the desert repenting.
You only have to let the soft animal of your body
love what it loves.
Tell me about despair, yours, and I will tell you mine.
Meanwhile the world goes on.
Meanwhile the sun and the clear pebbles of the rain
are moving across the landscapes,
over the prairies and the deep trees,
the mountains and the rivers.
Meanwhile the wild geese, high in the clean blue air,
are heading home again.
Whoever you are, no matter how lonely,
the world offers itself to your imagination,
calls to you like the wild geese, harsh and exciting
over and over announcing your place
in the family of things.
