“Beyond living and dreaming, there is something more important: waking up.” - Antonio Machado
What the statement invokes is different for each of us. We live, go through the motions, wake up every day, perform the routines and the rituals common to our lives. And the days fly by. We may dream about having/getting different things, being in a different place with some more peace or ease, not having worry, being able to give more to people we love, having more money, connecting with someone, getting into a relationship, having a better relationship with our kids, and the list of dreams goes on and on.
Somewhere in between these two states of being is a bliss place of waking up to the moment. In between the mundane, routine, everyday, and the out-there, possible, the perfect dream is that place of waking up to the moment. We often talk about being in the moment; this notion is about waking up to it, which is uplifting, empowering, and forward-positive.
A close friend recently shared that she has some things she wants to do before she closes her eyes and is taking the next step to begin that journey. We don’t know how much time we have before we finally close our eyes, so the notion of waking up to possibilities is particularly powerful to me. All of a sudden, I realized that no matter how old we are, what we have done, what we want, we have no control over the moment we will close our eyes. My friend realizes that and is waking up to her moment to fulfill some of her dreams. She is making a change, carving out some time and doing something else.
Some people have many “waking up” periods in their lives, being aware of and open to opportunities that may arise and maybe changing direction or doing something new. Being present with a calm mind sets the stage for waking up to the moment, waking up to change, waking up to do and be something different. Physically speaking, waking up is associated with opening the eyes, so we can also talk about it as opening the eyes wide to not only what is in front of us, but what is all around us. And then thinking about how to enhance the moment, how to enhance a relationship, how to enhance our states of being. Put aside fears, know that support is out there when needed, and try to find what really matters to you.
On July 16, there was a partial full moon lunar eclipse.
“...while releasing and endings are a big theme of this Eclipse, there is something deeper happening here too. This Eclipse is not just guiding us to release and bring closure to things that have served their time, it is also guiding us to stretch; to stretch the limits of our mind, our body and our soul.” (“Intuitive Astrology: July Full Moon Lunar Eclipse 2019”: foreverconscious.com). Let the universe be your guide; wake up to all your possibilities.
May you be happy. May you be free. May you be grateful. May you let go of things that do not serve you. May you have inner peace.BLOG COMMENTS POWERED BY DISQUS
