Beach Flix Comes Back

Beach Flix is back! Summer is a perfect time to enjoy a movie under the stars, either near or on the beach. The Rockaway Civic Association (RCA) is bringing back this opportunity with its first film on Friday, July 6.

This Friday, bring the family down to the hockey rink on Beach 109th for a screening of Despicable Me 3. Each Beach Flix movie begins around sundown, so at about 8:30 p.m., bring a chair or blanket, sit back, and enjoy this family-friendly film. This particular screening is made possible by nearby businesses, Coastal Frozen Yogurt, Healy's Pub, Boardwalk Bagels and Happy Jack's Burger Bar. Each Beach Flix event is made possible by these sponsors, so be sure to show your support. In the event of rain, the movie will be shown on July 7 instead.

If you miss the first one, there is still a full lineup of movies ahead for the summer. The RCA has announced two other movies so far. On Wednesday, July 18, they’ll be screening another new family-favorite, Coco. This will take place on the sand at Beach 106th Street, right in front of sponsors, Caracas. Cool down with a drink and get into the mood with arepas before enjoying the film. The rain date is July 19.

The third Beach Flix event will take place on Wednesday, July 25, and this time they’re showing the classic, Caddyshack. This will take place on Beach 125th Street and is sponsored by Jamesons Pub.
