Beach 133rd knows how to celebrate the 4th. On Wednesday, July 4, the block held its 7th Annual July Fourth Parade. The children of Beach 133rd Street marched from Rockaway Beach Boulevard  to the beach wall, where they assembled and recited the Pledge of Allegiance and sang patriotic songs. The parade ended with breakfast for all.

Beach 133rd Street is a unique block in Belle Harbor. “We live on a very close-knit block, many have been here for many years,” neighbor Larry Gray said.  “As a matter of fact, many of the children who've grown up here have come back and purchased their parents' homes and now have their own children on 133rd.

“Mary Quinn is the oldest resident. She is 95 and has lived here for 65 years. Her grandson, Owen, his wife, Maryellen, and Mrs. Quinn's great grandson live with her.

“It is this devotion to Rockaway and its values that make this one of the best places in the world to live,” Gray said.
