Rockapulco Gold Music Fest is Saturday

What goes better with beer than some rock n’ roll? There will be plenty of both this Saturday, October 13 at The Rockapulco Gold Music Festival.

Over the summer, John Edwards, who organizes the Rockapulco Runs around Rockaway, dabbled in a new endeavor and brewed up his own beer, Rockapulco Gold. The 5.5 percent alcohol brew launched in August with a tasting at Rogers. Now people will have a bigger opportunity to give it a try in unlimited supply, complete with live music by some of Rockaway’s favorite musicians.

The Rockapulco Gold Music Festival will include live music by Indaculture, The Grayriders, Solshyne, The Skells, Walker (of The Brotherhood and the Grape), plus special guests. Admission includes access to the show, plus unlimited Rockapulco Gold beer and bottled water. Food, like $5 tacos, will also be available from the Fit Food Kitchen. The fun takes place under the tent at 114-04 Beach Channel Drive (in the Belle Rock parking lot). Tickets are $30 in advance and can be purchased at, or $40 at the tent on the day of. Net proceeds benefit the Kevin Kearney Scholarship Fund, Rockaway WISH and the Graybeards.

This is going to be a fun event that you don’t want to miss, but if you do, you can still find Rockapulco Gold Beer around town. You can pick some up at the Beer House (87-06 Rockaway Beach Blvd.), or stop by the Sugar Bowl, Kennedy’s and the BayHouse in Breezy Point, or Jameson’s, Community House, The Wharf, Healy’s or Happy Jack’s.
