Well, about the only thing that looks somewhat the same is the telephone pole which has since sprouted far too many wires. These shots were supplied by historian James Supple who runs a great website, OldRockawayPhotos.com. In the old pic, The Irish Circle Hotel and Hickeys Restaurant & Bar is in view as is the Beach 102nd Street sign. And a bit further down, it looks like you could get a slice of pizza for 5 cents. The recent photo, facing west, is right outside the Community House which used to be the Irish Circle Bar and Restaurant. As you can see, the tall buildings of Dayton Towers, built in 1968, dramatically changed the landscape.
