Kick off your parade celebrations a day early with 3 Sheets To The Wind as they make their debut at RBQ. And folks, make sure you come in your dancing shoes because Tim, Andy, and Mark will have you on your feet jammin’ to all your favorite classic rock and blues!

Want to burn off some calories before you down some beer and pub grub?  Well, join in on Rockapulcorun’s Parade Day 5K. Number pick-up and race day registration opens 90 minutes before race time at Rockaway Gliders Studio (114-04 Beach Channel Drive). Run Starts at 10:30 a.m. Bag check and bathrooms at Gliders. The race starts and finishes on the boardwalk by Beach 116th Street. All runners receive a T-shirt, medal and Rockapulco Gold Beer.

 

Saturday, March 2

1 p.m.

Bagpipes, shamrocks and plenty of green will be out in full force at Rockaway’s Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade. The parade route runs from Beach 129th Street along Newport Avenue to Beach 116th, and then on Rockaway Beach Blvd. to Beach 100th. So come out and salute Rockaway’s rich Irish heritage!

1 p.m.

After the parade, get a taste of the Emerald Isle at RBQ’s St. Patrick’s Day Party. With traditional Irish food galore, Guinness taps overflowing, and live music — gear up for an all-day feast. At 2 p.m., Jeff Conlon takes the stage wooing the crowd with his guitar and bagpipes. Then at 7 p.m., Gerard Bair keeps the party jigging with your favorite Irish, and rock & roll tunes.

Wine With Sue is back at the Belle Harbor Yacht Club hosting their annual Rockaway St. Patrick’s Day Parade show. This post-parade party never disappoints, not just ‘cause folks get to whet their whistle with fantastic booze specials, but who could resist Wine With Sue as they belt out their notoriously wild rock n’ roll party covers. Not one to miss!

The Rockaway Rugby Club hosts one of the biggest post-parade parties on the Rock, and this year, with Shilelagh Law, The Newfie Bastards and DJ Tubbs on the entertainment menu, everyone will feel like they discovered a pot o’ gold!

After the parade, you’ll be plenty hungry and thirsty, so why not head to Bungalow Bar and celebrate with brunch or yummy Irish cuisine, and of course, Bungalow’s legendary Green Frozens! Plus with The Irish Mutts and DJ Tommy Tubs dishing up live music, you’ll be celebrating everything Irish on the bay.

Tonight at Rogers, your cup will be overflowing as The Brooklyn Bards transport you to Éire with their folk songs dating back hundreds of years ago to the present. If classic and contemporary Irish war marches, slides, rebel and love songs endear your heart, leanúint do chroí and toast, sláinte!

After the festivities on Saturday, bring the whole family to St. Camillus-St. Virgilius Parish’s Annual St. Patrick’s Dance featuring a sit-down corned beef dinner by Ludwig’s Catering (beer and soda included), and live music by The Cunningham Brothers. Rockaway Theater Company presents Ken Ludwig’s A Comedy of Tenors, a sidesplitting comedy featuring a bevy of characters who will have you weeping with laughter.
