Want a chance to live in Rockaway for as low as $331 a month? A housing lottery for Beach Green Dunes II, an affordable housing building located at 45-19 Rockaway Beach Boulevard, is now open.
Do you fall in the low income bracket? You could qualify for an apartment anywhere from $331 to $1,910 a month, if you’re selected through the lottery. But you must apply for the lottery by May 17, 2019.
There are 113 apartments available in the eight-story building and the lottery is open to those who make 30, 40, 50, 60 and 100 percent of the area median income. The bracket starts at $331 studios for a single person making between $13,303 and $21,930, to a three bedroom apartment for a six-person family making between $68,126 to $121,000.

After the deadline, applications are selected for review through a lottery process. If yours is selected and you appear to qualify, you will be invited to an interview to continue the process of determining your eligibility. Interviews are usually scheduled from 2 to 10 months after the application deadline. You will be asked to bring documents that verify your household size, identity of members of your household, and your household income.
