Assemblywoman Stacey Pheffer Amato, Senator Addabbo and the New York City Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) will be giving away free rain barrels on Sunday June 2, 2019 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the American Legion Post 1404, at 209 Cross Bay Blvd., in Broad Channel. Rain barrels are designed to help catch excess rain water, which can later be reused for simple household tasks, such as watering plants or washing cars.
“Rain barrels are one of those amazing free resources you don't want to miss out on,” Pheffer Amato said. “By having a rain barrel you can save money on your water bill whenever you wash your car or water your lawn and can also help to preserve water in general. It is such a pleasure doing these events with Senator Addabbo and the folks from DEP. I look forward to seeing everyone on June 2.”
Addabbo added, “Rain barrels are a great way to help residents not only save money on their water bill, but to also help protect the environment. I always enjoy giving away these free rain barrels and I would like to thank both Assemblywoman Pheffer Amato and the DEP for partnering with me to spread the word about the usefulness of these rain barrels.”
