After several years of dangerous crossing for pedestrians at an intersection that allows traffic to come from five different directions, there are traffic lights at Beach 94th Street and Beach Channel Drive.
At the request of the community, the Department of Transportation came up with a plan to improve safety at the busy intersection. Part of that plan was to add a traffic light. The plan was approved by Community Board 14 in June 2018 and this week, the DOT was on site to start installing the lights for cars and crossing signals for pedestrians.
It is expected that they will soon be working, so pay attention and be prepared to stop at this area near the Cross Bay Bridge on Beach Channel Drive.BLOG COMMENTS POWERED BY DISQUS
