Get ready to Rock! Away! The Rock! Away! Music Festival is officially here, sending you on a musical scavenger hunt across the peninsula, with your prize being sweet and salty tunes fit for any musical taste, from July 12-14.

Max Power is back and at it again with an even bigger and better Rock! Away! Music Festival. Starting Friday, July 12 and all through the weekend, you’ll find live music in the lineup from Riis Park Beach Bazaar to Rockaway Brewing Company on Beach 72nd Street.

According to the creator, Matt Preis of Max Power Productions, “Rock! Away! is all about Rockaway and designed to get you to spend a day like a local; Creating your own path or going with the wind—bouncing from venue to venue, enjoying music, art, good times, and meeting old friends and new along the way. Rockaway is full of talented musicians and the creatives that live here, visit here and get inspired here. Rockaway is a community, treat it with love,” and that is exactly what Preis aims to do with the gift of Rock! Away!

Throughout the weekend, more than 80 solo musicians, bands and DJs will take the stage across more than 10 venues, filling Rockaway with tunes fit for all ears as part of this third annual festival. Head to Riis Park Beach Bazaar, Rogers, AB Studios, the boardwalk concessions at Beach 86th, 97th and 106th, RBQ, La Barracuda, Bungalow Bar, Healy’s, Rockaway Brewing Company, and even Zingara Vintage, Mara’s Ice Cream Parlor, Rockaway Beach Bakery, Happy Jack’s, Connolly’s and Bernadette’s this weekend, and you’ll likely find live music.

If you’re overwhelmed, don’t fret. There will be an information kiosk for the event at AB Studios on Beach 112th and Rockaway Beach Boulevard. There, you can grab info on bands, venues and schedules, while also sticking around for some grub from Beach Bum Barbecue or Te Quiero.
