On July 4, the Beach 133rd Beach Block held their annual Children’s Parade to celebrate the day. The parade started at Rockaway Beach Boulevard and ended at the beach wall, where everyone said the Pledge of Allegiance and the children sang God Bless America. The event ended with a breakfast for all.
This year, the residents also celebrated a new flag pole at the end of the block. The flag pole was dedicated by Monsignor Jack Bracken in honor of John Gerard Farrell who lost his life on September 11, 2001.
This is an event that not only instills pride in both adults and children but gratitude for all that we are blessed with.
