First he brought "Topless" to Rockaway. Now, it’s "Shows in Spaces." Artist Brent Birnaum is back with another art exhibition.
From 2014 to 2016, Birnaum ran a temporary art gallery called Topless. The gallery in an abandoned dentist’s office on Beach 91st Street was a success. Now he’s back, organizing more art shows in the neighborhood. His newest project, called Shows in Spaces, is located in a remodeled bungalow, built in 1920, at 311 Beach 73rd Street. The space is furniture free and includes two distinctive rooms containing work by 11 artists. The exhibition opened on September 7 and will be open noon to 5 p.m. on weekends through September 28, plus during weekdays by appointment.
There will be a party for the show on Saturday, September 14, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visitors can then continue the party at nearby bars and restaurants.
Details about the exhibit are vague, but you can get a better sense of what to expect by visiting https://www.showsinspaces.com/
