This past weekend, the eighth-grade boys from St. Francis de Sales CYO soccer managed to pull out a tie and a win. On Friday night, September 27, the boys played St. Camillus/St. Virgilus and managed to end the game in a 3-3 tie, while on Saturday, the boys managed to pull off a 4-2 victory over Holy Child. The win over Holy Child was especially meaningful because the boys were playing with three fewer players on the field than Holy Child. Due to the holiday weekend, not all players were available.
Rookie goalie, Alex Anastasiades managed to gather up twenty saves for SFDS over the two days. Goals were scored by Joe Butler (4), Ian Erhard (2), and Matthew Bambury (1), while assists were procured by Connor Monahan (3), Matthew Bambury (1), and Ian Erhard (1).
