Next Vote: With Election Day in the rearview mirror, another one is expected to occur in February as current Queens Borough President Melinda Katz leaves office to move to the Queens District Attorney post. The Good Government Regular Democratic Club is sponsoring a Meet The Candidates night on Thursday, November 14 at 7:45 p.m. at the Beacon Rehab building, 140 Beach 113th Street. 

Among those invited: City Councilman Donovan Richards, former Councilwoman Elizabeth Crowley, Councilman Jimmy Van Bramer, Councilman Costa Constantinides, Councilman Paul Vallone, and Assemblywoman Alicia Hyndman.

A $2 donation at the door will be appreciated.

Join a park ranger for this walking tour, and discover Fort Tilden's role in the defense of New York City and its harbor.  Historic Aircraft Restoration Program, Floyd Bennett Field, Hangar B, Sunday, November 10, 2 to 4 p.m. Join a park ranger on a trip back through time to learn Floyd Bennett Bennet Field's rich aviation history, as told through the historic aircraft in the hangar.

Good Luck, Deputy: Deputy Inspector Vincent Tavalaro, head of the 101st Precinct since 2017, is moving on. He will be the next Commanding Officer of the 103rd Precinct. He was a strong leader for the Far Rockaway precinct and will be missed. Captain Eric A. Robinson is stepping in for Tavalaro at the 101st. We wish good luck to both.
