Blue Ribbon Challenge Grows

Today (Thursday, March 5), at 3:30 p.m., the Rockaway WISH invites neighbors to help show support for the NYPD. Join locals, as well as members of the WISH, by putting up blue bows around the neighborhood. With 150 blue bows donated by the WISH, this project will entail decorating Newport Avenue, between Beach 116th Street and Beach 149th Street, in order to show the NYPD that Rockaway residents support them, and are appreciative of all their hard work and effort in keeping our community safe. If you’d like to participate in the “Blue Ribbon Challenge,” meet community members near the Harbor Light Restaurant on Newport and 130th Street, at 3:30 p.m.  sharp. Rain date set for Friday, March 6, at 3:30 p.m.

Previously, on Saturday, February 29, Assemblywoman Stacey Pheffer Amato, along with State Senator Joseph P. Addabbo Jr., representatives from Councilman Eric Ulrich’s office, and members of the community participated in the Blue Ribbon challenge in Rockaway Beach.
