It was a smaller, shorter ceremony this year due to coronavirus concerns, but it didn’t stop the American Legion Daniel M. O’Connell Post #272 from holding their annual Veterans Day ceremony to thank and remember those who have served this country.
On the morning of Wednesday, November 11, American Legion members and veterans Mike Honan, Michael Menschel and Jim Hurley led prayers and speeches to mark the occasion, followed by Army veteran Brian Galarza who played Taps on the bugle. There were no major announcements of the ceremony to keep the crowd to a minimum, but a small crowd gathered as people in cars drove by and took a moment to thank the veterans for their service.
