Ulrich Offers Free DIY Covid Testing

Need to get tested for Covid? Head to Councilman Eric Ulrich’s office for some DIY testing.

Last week, Ulrich became the first City Council Member to offer a testing micro-site right in his office at 114-12 Beach Channel Drive. The office had NYC Test & Trace Corps members on hand to show people how to swab their own nose for the test which was sent out to a lab, with results returned within 24-48 hours.

“I am the first Council Member in New York City to host a Testing Microsite, where NYC Test and Trace Corps members guide people to swab their own noses safely, and then place the sample in a sealed plastic tube and envelope.  NYC staff then FedEx samples to ensure tests are conducted within 24 hours, and results generally a day later,” Ulrich said. “We had been asking for a testing location in Rockaway for some time, but with the recent spike in positive cases there, the requests became much more insistent.”

The testing will be offered again at Ulrich’s office on Friday, December 18 and Saturday, December 19 from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. For more information, call Ulrich’s office at (718) 318-6411.
