CT3Designs, the Far Rock Greek Council and Evntz On The Rock brought “Tides of Joy” to Far Rockaway last weekend with their toy drive/ pop-up shop.

On Saturday, December 19, the community was invited to the Evntz On the Rock’s space on Central Ave for some Christmas cheer. The event, made possible by the members of the Far Rock Greek Council and donations from the community, was a huge success. The day included photos with Santa Claus, toy and PPE giveaways such as sewn masks, face shield and hand sanitizer donated by PPE4All, and vendors, including youth, who showed off their brands and entrepreneurial spirit. Some of the vendors included MiracleWithLove Food & Catering, AmiaCollection, RichKidBrand , NatalieSweetTreats, Lee’s Ice Creamery, FruitsOfMyLabor, ShineWithRizz, HandSaniSlimer, SkylarGBoutique, PrettyLilDreamz, SoapsByJujube and Leiah’s Lemonade. The organizers were able to collect more than 250 toys that will be donated.

“The event was definitely needed for the youth in our community, especially for those who are affected tremendously by the pandemic,” Curtis Turney-Rentas, founder of the Far Rock Greek Council said. “With the success of the event, every youth at the event was able to receive one toy of their liking, while the rest of the toys will be distributed to kids at a family shelter in the Rockaway community on Christmas Day. We just couldn’t cancel this, so we pivoted the structure and made it possible because we all know our community needs this more than ever before.”
