As parts of Rockaway have seen increases in Covid-19 cases, it’s important to keep track of how the neighborhood is doing with coronavirus. Robby Schwach of Councilman Eric Ulrich’s office has been hard at work, tracking down the details for each Rockaway zip code. We are sharing this info each week.
Schwach noted that since New Year’s Day, 2, 242 residents of Rockaway and Broad Channel have tested positive for COVID-19. Since March of 2020, 620 residents of Rockaway and Broad Channel have died of COVID-19.
The latest info represents changes between 01/27/2021-02/01/2021.
In 11691, positive cases increased by 186 from 5,185 to 5,371. There were two new deaths in this period, bringing the total number of deaths to 395.
In 11692, cases went up by 66, from 1,241 to 1,307. There was one new death in this period, bringing the total to 96.
In 11693, cases rose by 41 from 741 to 782. There were no new deaths, and the total remains at 31.
In 11694, there was an increase in cases by 68, from 1,607 to 1,675. There was one new death, bringing the total to 91.
In 11697, cases rose by 10, from 419 to 429. There were no new deaths in this period, and the total remains at seven.
