As parts of Rockaway have seen increases in Covid-19 cases, it’s important to keep track of how the neighborhood is doing with coronavirus. Robby Schwach of Councilman Eric Ulrich’s office has been hard at work, tracking down the details for each Rockaway zip code. We are sharing this info each week.
Schwach noted that since New Year’s Day, 2,939 residents of Rockaway and Broad Channel have tested positive for COVID-19. Since March of 2020, 638 residents of Rockaway and Broad Channel have died of COVID-19.
The latest info represents changes between 02/07/2021-02/15/2021.
In 11691, positive cases increased by 231 from 5,559 to 5,790. There were nine new deaths in this period, bringing the total number of deaths to 410.
In 11692, cases went up by 43, from 1,358 to 1,401. There were no new deaths in this period, and the total remains at 96.
In 11693, cases rose by 41 from 809 to 850. There were two new deaths, bringing the total to 33.
In 11694, there was an increase in cases by 58, from 1,711 to 1,769. There were no new deaths and the total remains at 91.
In 11697, cases rose by 11, from 440 to 451. There was one new death in this period, bringing the total to eight.
The seven-day rolling average of positive tests by zip code: As of February 16, 11691 is 9.13%, 11692 is 5.71%, 11693 is 8.02%, 11694 is 6.25%, 11697 is 2.79%
