As parts of Rockaway have seen increases in Covid-19 cases, it’s important to keep track of how the neighborhood is doing with coronavirus. Robby Schwach of Councilman Eric Ulrich’s office has been hard at work, tracking down the details for each Rockaway zip code. We are sharing this info each week.

The latest info represents changes between 03/29/2021-04/05/2021.

In 11691, positive cases increased by 227 from 6,768 to 6,952. There were five new deaths in this period, bringing the total number of deaths to 437. Fourteen percent or 6,587 people have been fully vaccinated.

In 11692, cases went up by 72, from 1,631 to 1,692. There were no new deaths in this period, and the total remains at 100. Sixteen percent or 2,142 people have been vaccinated.

In 11693, cases rose by 35 from 1,009 to 1,041. There was one new death, bringing the total to 38. Twenty percent or 1,962 people have been fully vaccinated.

In 11694, there was an increase in cases by 93, from 2,044 2,112. There were no new deaths in this period, and the total remains at 96. Thirty percent or 4,971 have been fully vaccinated.

In 11697, cases rose by 22 from 505 to 521. There was one new death in this period, bringing the total to 11. Fifty-six percent or 1,516 people have been vaccinated.

The seven-day rolling average of positive tests by zip code: As of April 3, 11691 is 9.07%, 11692 is 8.07%, 11693 is 8.99%, 11694 is 7.59%, 11697 is 12.14%.
