“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us.” -Marianne Williamson.
My favorite quote that often resonates with many people. As I decide to roll out my mat on this early Saturday morning, I realize I am enough. There is a connection to my Source that awakens me every morning. I say thank you for this day, this moment, this life. One day at a time, as I know in my heart there are so many people suffering, who are not feeling what I feel in my heart of hearts. You are never alone, there is a power within yourself so deep, that only you can access it. I have found this on my mat, with my breath in a gentle, yin practice. The yin practice has taught me how to back off and become less competitive in life. It has made all the difference in how I practice yoga.
Running on our beautiful boardwalk this morning inspires me to write this column today. I feel strong, empowered, yet soft and somewhat broken. Why do people suffer with illness, sadness, loneliness and emptiness? How can we offer our services to those in need? Will there ever be a time of peace and love in this crazy world? There is so much beauty on this particular winter day, with the clouds and rays of sunlight pouring out from the heavens. I even see a small rainbow in the glorious sky, giving me a sign there is peace at the end. We will all suffer one day, but if you have your Source you will be free from attaching yourself to the suffering. I am a practicing Catholic but I connect to the Jewish, Muslim, Buddhist and all others because there is only One. I am you, you are I, and in the end we will all meet up. I smile and accept all beings from all walks of life.
As I run along the boardwalk, there is a man in a wheelchair asking for a quarter. I laugh and yell out to him, “I gave you a dollar yesterday.” He laughs and suddenly remembers. As I am running back he looks at me and thanks me for the dollar. For a short second our eyes meet and I see someone higher than ourselves. I am he, he is I, we are all one. There is a power so much greater within each and every one of you. Dare you believe.

We are the light of the world. Don’t let darkness cloud your vision. Become the beacon of light and you will never suffer. I thank my mom and dad for having such a strong faith and for loving each one of us unconditionally. My intention is to continue to stay on the path. You may fall off, but you can always come back on. Namaste: The divine light in me recognizes the divine light in you. Feeling inspired and enlightened in 2017.BLOG COMMENTS POWERED BY DISQUS
