Last week’s storm was given big labels—bombogenesis, bomb cyclone, etc., and it wasn’t just for sensationalism. Thursday’s storm brought in plenty of snow, freezing temperatures, and high wind, which caused a Belle Harbor home to collapse.
As Winter Storm Grayson started to reach its peak on the morning of Thursday, January 4, the winds picked up and took down a beachfront home between Beach 129th and Beach 130th Street. The home had been empty since Hurricane Sandy and was undergoing renovations, so no one was living in it and nobody was hurt by the collapse. Neighboring homes suffered from minor damage to siding and windows. Neighbor, Jamie Guage, took some photos showing the scene.BLOG COMMENTS POWERED BY DISQUS
