The Jamaica Bay-Rockaway Parks Conservancy, Surfrider and NYC Parks are hosting a beach clean up on Sunday, August 9, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Meet on the boardwalk on Beach 26th Street. The Community Boathouse is back! Kayaking programs are now taking place at Bay Breeze Park on Beach 88th Street and the bay. Open paddles are now taking place every Saturday, Wednesday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Sundays from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. Sunset paddles take place on Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m. All are welcome to walk up, sign up and spend some time exploring Jamaica Bay by kayak. Beach Sessions is back, but this time they’re going virtual due to coronavirus. This time they’re hosting Tik Tok Challenges. New York choreographers are creating dance challenges that people can do at home and post to social media. All challengesare on Beach Sessions’ TikTok profile (@beachsessionsdanceseries), Instagram (@beachsessions_rockaway) and website.
