Live Music at Whit's

Whit is keeping the party going in the backyard space with live music. Every Wednesday at 7 p.m., Deadheads rejoice at Rainbow Spirals, a Grateful Dead tribute band performs. Dubois Point Cleanup

Fall Foraging Tour

RISE presents a foraging tour with Wildman Steve Brill on Saturday, October 17. From 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., starting at Beach 59th and Rockaway Freeway, learn about the best of the wild foods Rockaway has to offer. Masks must be worn and social distancing maintained. To register, head to


Sandy Anniversary Plant Giveaway

To mark the eighth anniversary of Hurricane Sandy, on Saturday, October 17, RISE will be hosting a “Quarantree” plant giveaway of Bayberry Shrubs. A plant native to the Rockaways’ shoreline environment, and suitable for planting outdoors or grown in containers on balconies or small gardens over the winter. Stop by the RISE Center (58-03 Rockaway Beach Blvd) between 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. to pick up a shrub.


Rockaway Car Corral

Got a nice ride to show off? The next Rockaway Car Corral will take place on Sunday, October 18, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Harbor Optics lot (113-10 Beach Channel Drive).


Meet the Candidates

On October 20 at 7:30 p.m., the Rockaway Republican Club will host a meet the candidates night at the Belle Harbor Yacht Club (533 Beach 126th St). Joann Ariola for Queens Borough President, Peter Hatzipetros for Assembly, Tom Sullivan for Senate and Joseph Kasper and John Spataro for NY Supreme Court Justice are expected to attend.
