Normally this page would be full of events and happenings around town. With Coronavirus causing most, if not all events and meetings to be canceled, we can only list a limited number of events that are virtual or with social distancing in mind.

 

Valentine’s Market

Head to the Rockaway Hotel on Beach 108th Street for a market featuring dozens of local vendors selling goods and goodies for your sweetie. The market will be held on Saturday, February 6 and Sunday, February 7 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. There will also be a 50/50 for the Rising Tide Effect.

 

Rockaway Beach Civic Association

Souper Bowl Collection

St. Francis de Sales church will be collecting cans of soup the weekend of February 6 and 7 to donate to local food pantries. The weekend of the Big Game, leave soup at the back vestibules of the church on Beach 129th Street. World Wetlands Day Cleanup

Join the Jamaica Bay-Rockaway Parks Conservancy, the American Littoral Society, and Assembly Member Jaime R. Williams for a cleanup at Plumb Beach Marsh in Brooklyn on World Wetlands Day. Help remove harmful debris from this important wetland. Meet at Plumb Beach March along the Belt Parkway between 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday, February 6 to assist. Want to join in a global movement of jumping into the ocean every week? Every Sunday at 2 p.m.  head to the beach or bay and jump on in.

Food Help for Seniors/Disabled
