The 13th Annual Clare Droesch 3 on 3 by the Sea is tomorrow, Friday August 28 at the St. Francis de Sales Schoolyard. More than 100 teams in boys’ and girls’ divisions are expected to compete and honor the memory and legacy of Rockaway basketball legend Clare Droesch, and her courageous battle against breast cancer.
Games will begin at 10 a.m. and continue through the afternoon. DJ Poppa D will provide the soundtrack for the afternoon. Apparel will be available for purchase, along with 50/50 and special raffle tickets. Proceeds go to the Clare Droesch Foundation administered by The Graybeards, supporting scholarships at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Academy, Christ the King High School, and Boston College, as well as support to families in need. Come by the schoolyard to cheer on these players, buy a t-shirt and help support the foundation.
A post event party will take place in the evening at Callie’s.
