Broad Channel Cleanup
On Friday, April 16, from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., meet at the All American Ballfields in Broad Channel for a cleanup. DSNY will be providing supplies.
Paddle Out for George Floyd
Black Surfing Rockaway is hosting a paddle out in honor of George Floyd’s life on Saturday, April 17 at 9 a.m. on Beach 91st Street. This paddle out will last for 9 minute and 29 seconds. Surfers are welcome to bring boards and join in. Extra boards will be on hand for those who don’t have them.
Earth Day Dubos Point Cleanup
Join the Jamaica Bay-Rockaway Parks Conservancy and Surfrider Foundation for a cleanup of Dubos Point on Saturday, April 17 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Beach 65th and Bayfield Avenue. RISE Community Cleanup

Live Music at RBQ
On Saturday, April 17 at 3 p.m., enjoy an afternoon of live music with Fools Night Out in the outside backyard of RBQ on Beach 98th Street. They’ll be followed by The Rockawades at 7 p.m.

Rockaway’s favorite party band heads to Whit’s End on Beach 97th Street to play a live show on Saturday, April 17 at 7 p.m.
Land Use & Housing Committee Meeting

Food and Clothing Drive
Every Saturday at First Presbyterian Church of Far Rockaway (896 Central Ave), the Far Rock Greek Council is holding a food and clothing drive. Food will be available for all from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and clothing will be available starting at 8 a.m. All food, clothing and monetary donations welcome. Senior Writing Workshops
Those 50 and older can join Kingsborough College’s five-week writing workshops for free. Basic writing workshops for beginnings will take place on Mondays at 4 p.m. starting April 26.
