On Friday, May 14, the Rockawades will be performing live at 7 p.m. at RBQ on Beach 98th and RBB. Grab some grub and a few drinks and enjoy the fun.


Community Cleanup

On Saturday, May 15 , from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., join RISE for a cleanup of the lot from Beach 59th to Beach 62nd Street. Gloves ad bags provided. Meet at RISE on Beach 59th and Rockaway Freeway. Masks required. For more info, email info@riserockaway.org.


Cannabis Forum

On Saturday, May 15 at 12 p.m., Senator Sanders and others are hosting a forum on how to start a cannabis business and clear your marijuana convictions at Ocean Bay Cornerstone (57-10 Beach Channel Drive) or www.Facebook.com/StateSenatorSandersJr/  


It’s My Park Day: Seaside Playground

On Saturday, May 15 from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m., head to Seaside playground between Beach 109th and Beach 110th and Rockaway Beach Blvd. to help plant flowers, make seed paper crafts, learn about water safety from Lou of Black Surfing Association and enter for a chance to win a raffle. Bring paper scraps for the craft. Masks required. This family event is open to all.


Blood Drive

Give the gift of blood. On Sunday, May 16 at 8 a.m., St. Camillus and St. Francis churches are hosting a blood drive in memory of Walter Blum at St. Camillus (180 Beach 100th Street). Appointments preferred but walk-ins welcome. Call Suzanne at 347-282-0018 for info.


Pollinator Program: Sustainability

On Sunday, May 16 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge is hosting a pollinator programs to explore what it takes to design and care for a pollinator garden. Learn from local outdoor gardeners and wildlife enthusiasts while getting a little dirty!

The Sunday Jamboree

On Sunday, May 16 at 2 p.m., head to the Harbor Light (Beach 130th and RBB) for an open mic event hosted by the Rockawades. All musicians are welcome to bring their own instruments and perform.


Commemorative Committee Meeting

Fort Tilden Hike

Every Sunday at 10:30 a.m., join a park ranger for a walking tour of Fort Tilden, highlighting the fort’s role in the defense of New York City during the 20th Century. Call 718-338-3799 to reserve. Tour will be capped at 10 participants. Social distancing will be maintained.  Face mask required.


Free Cardio Punch Fitness Classes
