On Thursday, July 1 at 7 p.m., head to the Knights of Columbus (333 Beach 90th) for RBAF’s return meeting. Hear announcements and updates on happenings in the local Autism community.
Meet NYC’s Piping Plovers
On Saturday, July 3 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., head to Beach 84th Street to learn about and view Rockaway’s piping plover population. Participate in a scavenger hunt for the whole family with the possibility to win prizes.
Rockaway Cove Paddle
On Wednesday, July 7 at 12:30 p.m., join NPS at Riis Landing on the bay for a kayaking tour around Rockaway Point. Kayaks provided. For more information and to make reservation, call 718-338-3799.
Kayaking Marsh Tour
The Community Boathouse on Beach 88th and the Bayside is back open. The first marsh tour will take place on Sunday, June 27 at 9:30 a.m. Online registration is required for all paddles. Register at communityboathouse.org
Yoga On the Beach w/ Sonia
Every Saturday at 10 a.m., under the gazebo on Beach 32nd Street, join Sonia for yoga practice combining meditation and movement. Bring sunscreen, yoga mat, water, towel, yoga blocks and yoga strap.

Zumba Under the Stars
Starting Thursday, July 8 and every Thursday through September, head to the Beach 108th hockey rink at 7:30 p.m. for Zumba with Lisa G. Enjoy this free dance workout.
Seaplane Ramp Kayaking
Every Saturday and Sunday at 9:30 a.m., head to the Seaplane Ramp at Floyd Bennett Field in Brooklyn for a free kayaking for beginners’ program. Ages 6 and up welcome. Kayaks and lifejackets provided. Dress to get wet.
Community Boathouse Paddles
The Community Boathouse on Beach 88th and the bay, is now open for scheduled paddles. Use of kayaks and equipment is free but registration is required. For a schedule and to reserve, head to: www.communityboathouse.org
AmpSurf Adaptive Surf Clinics
AmpSurf’s season of offering surf lessons to amputees, those with special needs and more, has begun. Each series takes place at Beach 67th Street starting at 8:30 a.m. Dates include July 10 and 31 and August 14. There is a $50 refundable fee for each clinic if participant attends. Every Saturday and Sunday at 1 p.m., head to the Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge and join a ranger as they cover a topic of their choice. Call for specific topics. All ages are welcome. This is an all-weather program, so please dress for the conditions. Space will be limited, so register by calling (718) 318-4340.
Fort Tilden Hike
Every Sunday at 10:30 a.m., join a park ranger for a walking tour of Fort Tilden, highlighting the fort’s role in the defense of New York City during the 20th Century. Call 718-338-3799 to reserve. Tour will be capped at 10 participants. Social distancing will be maintained. Face mask required.
