Listen to the Inner Voice
“Listen to the wind, it talks. Listen to the silence, it speaks. Listen to your heart, it knows.”
Make yourself happy. “Life is short” is an overused phrase but when you get it you may realize that there is no time to waste to work on a relationship or look for a new means of making money or shifting your mindset to make yourself feel better. Whatever it is, anything is possible. Mending old ways, reinventing your image, jump starting an idea—all doable. Before you know it, another year goes by and another and another!
The only way we tap into who we are, what we need, what we want and how we want to live is to settle down and listen to our inner voices. They are there, ready to tell us what’s up. But we have to listen. So, becoming aware of what we really feel and letting the feelings come about. Churning through them and listening to what they are saying from within. Taking a few minutes each day to stop and listen will produce great results. We won’t settle things or come to amazing conclusions or change with one effort but daily awareness and taking a few minutes will allow the process to happen. Practicing listening to the inner voice every day. If nothing arises, and all is good, great. But often when we stop to listen when we’re not feeling quite right, feelings come up—and by not acknowledging them and letting them rise, the general malaise continues day to day.
Awakening curiosity for our surroundings and the outside world could offer ways to make changes for ourselves and for family or friends too. Keeping things dynamic rather than static. Imagining movement and possibility to take the place of stagnation and being stuck. Things are always changing, nothing stays the same even if they appear to.
Taking the lesson from a bud to a flower—we don’t see the bud to bloom process, but if there were a slow-motion video of it, we would see the gradual transformation. So be it with inner realizations and transformations. There may be a few paramount transformations in our lifetimes, and there are many, many mini ones, if we practice awareness, listening to the inner voice, and changing with our tides. Safety and security are somehow perceived as keeping certain things the way they are, but nothing ever stays the same, so how do we feel safe and secure in an ever-changing existence? Being in tune with the inner voice—that is our safe and secure spot.
Sit quietly, withdraw from the senses or most—maybe just hearing simple noises around you. Focus on one thing for a bit like a beautiful object in front of you and just breathe. Allow what arises to arise, be kind to yourself and make any changes with love.
May you be happy. May you be free. May you be grateful. May you be compassionate. May you let go of things that do not serve you. May you have inner peace.
