Cardwell, a former reporter and editor for The New York Times, and founder of Vibe magazine, recent book, “Rockaway: Surfing Headlong Into a New Life,” has enthralled folks all over as it’s not just a riveting, but inspirational story about how this remarkably humble woman made transformational changes in her life once she not just discovered, but made Rockaway her home, and how learning to surf propelled her to reset her inner salvation.
