Beach Flix: The Sandlot

On Thursday, July 28 at 8:30 p.m., head to Beach 1068h with a chair or blanket and enjoy The Sandlot (a fun summer classic for all ages) under the stars. Sponsored by The Rockaway Hotel and the Rockaway Civic Association.

Rockaway Market Street

On Saturday, July 30 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., head under the elevated A train track at Beach 60th for an outdoor market including vendors such as: Blacksmith’s Breads, Edgemere Farm, Horman’s Best Pickles, Mushroom Queens, Rockaway Soda, Saratoga Peanut Butter Company, and more! Live music.

Community Cleanup

On Saturday, July 30 from 11 a.m. top 1 p.m., meet at RISE (58-03 Rockaway Beach Blvd.) for a cleanup. They will be cleaning the vacant lot areas east of the RISE Center for our future Native Plant Nursery. Gloves and bags provided. Masks required.

West African Dance Workshop

On Saturday, July 30 at 4 p.m. at the Beach 17th Playground, Ailey Arts In Education drummers and dancers will lead the young and young at heart in a fun-filled West African workshop. All ages and levels welcome. Don’t leave without your souvenir fan, a signature prop from Alvin Ailey’s masterwork, Revelations.

Movie Under the Stars: James and the Giant Peach

On Saturday, July 30 at 8:30 p.m., head to the Beach 17th boardwalk to enjoy James and the Giant Peach. “A neglected boy’s life is enriched by a magic peach. Charming adaptation of Roald Dahl’s fairy tale features a mix of live action and puppet animation.” Bring a chair or blanket to enjoy.

Night Out Against Crime

On Tuesday, August 2, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., the 100th Precinct Community Council will host Night Out Against Crime in the Beach 94th/95th lot. Free food, DJ, Amusements, Face Painting, Balloonist, Performances & Community Info!

Night Out Against Crime 101

On Tuesday, August 2, from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m., head to O’Donohue Park on Beach 17th to join the 101 Precinct for a night of games, food, snacks, drinks, music and more.

Zumba Under the Stars

Lisa G is back every Thursday at 7:30 p.m. leading Zumba classes in the Beach 108th hockey rink, in memory of Lew Simon. Through September 1.

Floyd Bennett Field Kayaking

On Saturdays and Sundays at 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., head to Floyd Bennett Field in Brooklyn for a free kayaking program for beginners. Open to those ages 6 and up. Kayaks and life jackets provided. Bring snacks, water and sunscreen.

Yoga on the Beach with Sonia

Every Saturday at 10 a.m., head to Beach 32nd join yoga instructor Sonia for meditation and movement stretches. Bring a towel, yoga mat, and water.

Rock N’ Clean Sundays

Every Sunday at 10 a.m., meet at the Adventure Park on Beach 101 and Shorefront for a free 30-minute workout and 30-minute beach cleanup.

Hatha Yoga with Soupy

On Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, head to Beach 102nd at 8:30 a.m. for yoga on the beach with Kevin Soupy Campbell.

Shape Up NYC: Cardio Punch

Every Saturday from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., join at Beach 59th Street and the boardwalk for a free Cardio Punch fitness class presented by NYC Parks. Bring a towel and water. Punch, hook, and kick to motivating, high-energy music that progress into heart-pumping combinations.

Boardwalk Yoga

On Sunday mornings at 8:30am on the boardwalk and Wednesday evenings at 7 p.m. on the beach, join for deep stretch yoga on Beach 126th with Christina Walker. Donations welcome.
