Blessings on the Beach
More than 550 parishioners of Blessed Trinity Parish attended the Mass on the beach celebrated by Bishop Robert Brennan on Monday, August 15, on the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The Mass featured the traditional blessing of the waters.
“I always used to tell people in Ohio that the two things I miss the most are my family and the ocean, and I was thrilled to be back around the beauty of the ocean in this late part of summer,” Bishop Robert Brennan said.
Father Michael Gelfant, Pastor of Blessed Trinity Parish added, “This annual Mass is a long tradition to our Breezy Point community. To have the Bishop of the diocese come and celebrate the Mass and meet the people out on their beach was extra special for the life of the parish as for the attendees. It was a first.”
The parish of Blessed Trinity is comprised of three churches: St. Genevieve, St. Thomas More, and St. Edmund.
