Santa Run Sleighs Again
On the morning of Saturday, December 9, you weren’t imagining the jingling and jangling down the boardwalk. It was the Rockaway Track Club’s Love Rockaway Santa Suit Run!
More than 100 people signed up to put on the red suit and go for either a 5K run or a one-mile run/walk on the brisk Saturday morning. They all gathered at Healy’s Pub to pick up their suits and numbers before taking to the boardwalk to start jingling all the way from Beach 108th to 126th, to Beach 97th and then back to Beach 108th for the finish, where runners were given special Santa medals. All were then invited back to Healy’s to warm up with a complimentary beer.
