Beach 116th Tree Lit for the Season
Beach 116th is looking brighter! On Wednesday. December 7, the annual lighting of the Beach 116th Christmas Tree was held, bringing holiday cheer to the block.
The event, hosted by Liz Hanna, Councilwoman Joann Ariola, Mazzone Hardware, Madelaine Chocolate Company, The Rock Church, the Rockaway Civic Association and The Knights of Columbus, was a big success. With chocolate goodies provided to kids, a visit from the Best Dressed Man in Rockaway and performances by the P.S. 114 chorus and Bella Piazza, faces were lit up with smiles all night.
The Jenkins kids, who lost their father in a motorcycle accident earlier this year, were given the honor of lighting up the tree along with Liz Hanna. The KofC provided the Nativity display along with the tree.
