Morning Breath Practice

Riding the Waves

The solar eclipse last week was an extraordinary time in the universe. Light is cut off to the earth and when it returns back to us, it is an opportunity to start fresh in life. Letting Go

Are we human beings having a spiritual experience or are we spiritual beings having a human experience? The hardest thing for a human to do is to let go. Let go of attachments, resentments, expectations, grudges, emotions and pain. Repeating the mantra, LET GO, again and again has been beneficial in my practice on and off the yoga mat. Expectation

How many times have you been disappointed because you expected another outcome or for someone to do or say something or act in a different way?  I’ve been examining this in my own life and looking for a way to remove the expectations and replace them with happy acceptances.  I know from my studies and yoga practices, “santosha” or contentment, comes from the ability to accept. Listening

Often, we are asked to listen and we feel compelled to give advice or talk about our own problems. My best friend, daughter, confidant sent me the following poem a few years ago when she was in a psychology class for nursing. Took an hourglass off the shelf today, turned it over and watched the passage of time for a while, then went about doing whatever I was doing. Where Do You Get Your Energy?

Recently, this question was asked to me and really got me thinking about energy. So many different energies in our world. Positive, negative, high, low, happy, sad, chatty, quiet, upbeat, depressed, anxious and grounded. Go With The Flow

Go with the flow. Opposite of resistance. My latest personal “study” has been about resistance. When I’m not accepting of a person’s action or lack of, or a current reality, or state of affairs, I find myself focusing my thoughts on that and it is so unsettling. I keep on coming around to why is this so, or asking the same questions over and over.
