Rockaway Swimmer Brings Sunshine to Buffalo

Rockaway resident Christian Foti, 19, Riis Park Lifeguard and Division I swimmer for Iona College, set four all-time Iona records this past weekend at the MAAC Conference Swimming and Diving Championships in Buffalo, NY. Foti set individual records in the 500, 1000, and 1650 freestyle events anchored the 880-freestyle relay over the four-day tournament. Perennial MAAC powerhouses Ryder and Marist came in one and two respectfully, with Iona repeating their 5th place finish from last year. After all, they’ve been in business for more than 30 years, and as Breezy Point residents themselves, mother-daughter...

Pick a Paint

When I started in the business there were only a handful of choices in paint finishes. Paint has come a long way in the past 30 years. So when you’re picking paint, think about textures, patterns and durability as well as color. The paint you choose can make the difference between freshening up a room with a new coat of paint to transforming a room into something new and vibrant. I will only cover a few different types of paint in this article, be sure to ask your handyman/contractor for more options. Linen look: Though this look can be created using standard paint and a slightly wet brush,...
