On Tuesday, December 12, crowds gathered in the St. Francis de Sales Prayer Garden for the annual lighting of the church’s memorial Christmas trees, angels and life-size Nativity scene. Music Director Michael Fontana started off the festivities by leading everyone present in carols. Then, Father Jim Cunningham and Father Bill Sweeney each said a few words and led a prayer. It was an especially joyous occasion as Tess Kuhlmann, a local tenth grader who had been in a very serious accident in May, was there and pushed the button to light up the large display after the crowd participated in a countdown. And, of course, Santa Claus was present join in the celebration.
