Happy 45th Anniversary, Fr. Bill! On Thursday, June 18, St. Francis de Sales Church in Belle Harbor held a celebration to honor the pastor’s 45th year of priesthood. The afternoon included a Mass of Thanksgiving, followed by a reception in the schoolyard, where everyone enjoyed food, music and a visit from Mr. Met, as Fr. Bill is a big Mets fan.
In true Fr. Bill fashion, he had the packed church laughing when he said, “I thought everybody in Rockaway went to the parade,” referencing the highly attended Knicks championship parade earlier in the day. But Rockaway wasn’t going to miss one of their favorite priests celebrating 45 years!
