Dear Editor:
On Sunday at St. Camillus, we celebrated the 11:30 a.m. Mass with Fr. Steven Neirer, a faculty member at Cathedral Prep and a good friend of Fr. Kuroly. Fr. Steven reminded us of the gifts given to us by God. We all love to get gifts, especially for our birthday, and of course, Christmas. But as Catholics, we also receive gifts from God when we receive the sacraments. Each of the sacraments provides a gift which reveals God’s presence to us and us to Him. The gifts provide us strength, wisdom, comfort, solace, peace, forgiveness and love. These gifts help us strengthen our relationship with God and each other as we try to become the best version of ourselves—the person that God created us to be.
Thank you Fr. Steven, Deacon Mike and Jim McCabe and all who joined us today for a beautiful Mass.
Many special Masses and services have been scheduled throughout the month of September in St. Camillus-St. Virgilius. There will be Adoration and Reconciliation at St. Camillus from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., followed by Mass at 12 p.m. on the First Saturday, September 5. Also at St. Camillus, on Tuesday September 8, there will be a Healing Mass. There is a Mass in St. Virgilius on Friday, September 11 at 7 p.m. for the 9/11 25th Anniversary. P.S. Rumor has it that Fr. Kuroly is returning to us this weekend.
