The 23rd annual Graybeards Family Run will return this year on Friday, July 31. The races will start near St. Francis de Sales Church on Beach 129th Street. The evening will begin with children’s races of varying lengths along Rockaway Beach Blvd. at 6:30 p.m. An inspirational run by Rockaway’s Special Athletes will follow at 6:45 p.m. The 1 Mile Run is next at 7 p.m. and then the marquee 5k Run at 7:15 p.m.
Post race festivities will be in St. Francis de Sales Fr. Grogan Memorial Schoolyard, and includes food, beverages, children’s activities, awards, raffles, and live music. In person registration outside of St. Francis’ Small Hall, begins this weekend on July 25 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., July 26 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., July 30 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., and on the day of the race, July 31 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Everyone is encouraged to register early to guarantee receiving this year’s shirt and to make your race day experience as easy as possible.
