Be Well Be Happy

 Love life and all that it has to offer. When you begin to awaken from your sleep silently say, thank you God for another day. Try your best to fill it with good intentions and positive thoughts. Some days are better than others but remain confident that each day is a precious gift. My dearest neighbor, Joan Moors, always has the greatest mantras. Speaking to her one evening she said, “You can either choose to exist or live.” In spite of having much loss her in life she chooses to live. Joan is a woman who lives life well and will have no regrets when she sets off into the sunset. Thank you, Joan, for your inspiration and friendship. You are a bright star for so many. Keep shining your light.

“Life is available only in the present moment.” Thich Nhat Hanh. What are your present moments? Surfing the internet, viewing social media, watching TV, going for a leisurely walk, taking a yoga class, going to the gym, visiting a friend or relative and spending some quality moments with that person.

My Dad, Alexander Brown Timlin taught me how to be present each day with the ones I love and enjoy the good times along with the bad times. We all change. Nothing stays the same but we can choose to be happy in this journey. Strive to be content.

Each day is an opportunity to learn and create. The simple act of being friendly to a stranger can ignite an unexpected conversation that fills one with happiness. With each new day it is helpful to approach challenges and experiences with an open mind. We are all capable of being happy. Stepping outside our comfort zone to be uncomfortable is what allows us to grow and be proud of ourselves.

The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali is a book helping to guide us in life to live with compassion and love for all beings. Book One, Sutra #33 is my favorite ones. The four keys to happiness are as follows: By cultivating attitudes of friendliness towards the happy, compassion for the unhappy, delight in the virtuous, and disregard toward the wicked, the mind-stuff retains its undisturbed calmness.  Desire to have serenity of mind and happiness is sought out by so many. Keep these four keys close to your heart and when you need them you will have the proper key to open the lock.

The following was sent to me by a very dear friend. “Hello, welcome to Flight #2021. We are prepared to take off into this year. Please make sure your attitude and Blessings are secured and locked in an upright position. All self-destructive devices should be turned off at this time.  All negativity, hurt and discouragement, should be put away. Should we lose Altitude under pressure, during the flight, reach up and pull down a Prayer. Prayers will automatically be activated by Faith. Once your Faith is activated you can assist other passengers. There will be NO BAGGAGE allowed on this flight. The Captain (GOD) has cleared us for takeoff. Destination GREATNESS.”
