Ever notice if you had been thinking about a certain color you notice it everywhere? Seems like the mind directs our sight to select things around us that it is focused on. Like if we’re working on picking a paint color and trying to find the “right” color blue, for example, all of a sudden we’re noticing all blue shades around us. Or you’re looking for a plant for your garden, you know you want something coral or pink—as you walk down the street all of the pink and coral flowers present themselves to you—your eyes go to them.
What if we can do the same with happiness and good feelings and positive things and love and calm? If we think about being calm, happy, loving, compassionate, on a regular basis, we ever so slowly begin to feel them. It’s almost as if we talk ourselves into feeling good. We begin to select the things around us that bring these good feelings to us. We begin to attract people to us who are happy or calm. If we can consciously breathe in positive affirmations, our minds will select these things from our environment, and we will attract those very things. “I am happy.” “I am at peace.” Directing the mind’s eye to create a happier peaceful existence is possible by willing it—so to speak. I always come back to: “whatever we say, think, do, feel, become a part of us.” And we attract to us what is inside of our minds and hearts. So, when I think of it that way, I say to myself that I’d better have something good inside my mind and heart, otherwise, I’m going to maybe unconsciously draw not so good things to me.
Repeating positive affirmations to ourselves regularly also has a similar effect as daily gratitude. Thanking everything, being grateful for every single thing, person, pet, continuously, instills a very deep joy. Taking in positives has this effect with the added bonus of strongly attracting similar positive things. We are interconnected to each other, to the earth, the sky, the environment around us. What we choose to see—like the pink and coral flowers—will either benefit us or not.
I know from my experience, that I can manifest good feelings by bringing them into my inner consciousness. My awareness is stimulated, and I feel enlightened. And there are all kinds of signs out there; which ones I select to bring into my life is up to my thoughts. Awareness of this phenomenon—something I believe to happen—is another opening to the good life.
“Your body, mind and emotions are instruments. And the way you align and tune them determines how well you play life.” (Harbhajan Singh)
“When things change inside you, things change around you.” (Unknown)
May you be happy. May you be free. May you be grateful. May you be compassionate. May you let go of things that do not serve you. May you have inner peace.
