On the Rockaway peninsula, our most recent endeavors were a combination of clean up and education. Our team partnered with Noreen Ellis of the Rockaway Civic Association and Joseph Ottomanelli from the Department of Sanitation. It was our mission to educate our youth about why we should always work hard to keep our community and beaches clean as well as the importance of being kind to our planet. In addition to the cleanup, we were accompanied by a living tree to speak with the children and distributed seeds for planting flowers and vegetables.

Additionally, our team worked with the Belle Harbor Homeowners' Association to help keep our boardwalks and beaches clean. "So thankful for the civics on the peninsula for organizing such well attended and successful events. I will continue to work hard to keep the waters of Jamaica Bay, our beaches, boardwalk and community clean, Joann Ariola, Candidate for City Council, District 32 said.
